Other Headphones for TV That I Can Recommend
I know I like the Sennheiser RS 120 headphones for TV, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the alternative model the Sennheiser RS 110 headphones either. These also have a great sound quality, well, they are Sennheisers after all. They are very similar to the 120s, with the same Supra-aural wireless system so the sound quality is top notch.
They’ve got a very natural and balanced sound to them, without much interference, so you hear an accurate reproduction of the original sound. That also makes them ideal headphones for more than just watching TV. They are hard to beat for listening to your favorite music CDs. In fact if you’ve got the right adapter you can even use the to listen to your MP3 player! Mind you, I wouldn’t advise walking around outside with them on.
If you didn’t want to splash out for a more expensive model of cordless or wireless headphones, these are an attractive alternative. Prices now are hovering around the $30 to $40 dollar mark, but I’ve seen some places advertising them for sale at $23. You can’t get much better than that for an entry into the world of wireless headphones for TV.
You don’t need to worry about setting these up with your TV or home theater system, just plug them in and you are good to go. The only thing you will probably need to do is sit them in the charger for a while so they can charge up the battery. Apart from that though, there’s just nothing to do except wear them.
Even after some extended periods of time wearing these wireless headphones I didn’t experience any discomfort. That might be important if you wear them for more than please, for instance if you’re hard of hearing and you need headphones to even hear the TV. Other headphones that I’ve tried have sometimes given me a bit of trouble, mostly because they press too hard on the area around the ear.
Just like the Sennheiser RS 120s, these have a great range too and will pick up the wireless signal without fault even at a distance of 150 or 200 meters away. Although I’d have to wonder if you’d still be able to see the TV from that distance!
I’ve seen some reviews of wireless headphones for TV and they complained about the lightness of these headphones. I see the light weight as a plus, rather than a fault. I’ve had headphones that were big and bulky and it didn’t take long to get fed up with them. They were ok for watching the occasional program on TV, but for any decent length movie they were hopeless. I like the light weight of these headphones it just makes them that much more comfortable.
So, if you can’t afford a set of Sennheiser 120s or you just don’t want to buy then, then I can definitely recommend the 110s as a worthy replacement set of headphones for TV.
